Shri Virendra Malik

Chairman

Executive Director (Finance), NTPC Limited, has been appointed as Nominee Director of NTPC on the Board of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited w.e.f. 06.10.2025. A Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and holding a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Delhi, he brings over three decades of experience spanning financial management, systems development, ERP implementation, taxation, project financing, and commercial operations. Shri Malik has also completed Advanced Management and Leadership training at ESCP Business School, Paris. Prior to his current role, he headed the Finance function at NTPC's Shared Services Centre, Vindhyachal, and has contributed significantly to digital transformation and corporate governance initiatives across NTPC. He is also Director in other group companies of NTPC viz. NTPC Parmanu Urja Nigam Limited, Aravali Power Company Private Limited, NTPC Electric Supply Company Limited, NTPC Mining Ltd, THDC India Limited and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited.

Shri Raghunadhan AV

Vice Chairman

Shri Raghunadhan AV is an Engineering Graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. He is presently working as Executive Director (New Business) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil). He is presently heading the New Business Group which is involved in overseas international business endeavours, product exports, and new initiatives in emerging energy verticals. He has been working with IndianOil since 1993 and has rich and versatile experience of over three decades, spanning logistics, polymer marketing, technical services, projects and strategy. During his versatile career at IndianOil, Shri Raghunadhan has played a pivotal role in developing Petrochemical Perspective Plan for the country. Shri Raghunadhan has demonstrated expertise in managing complex polymer marketing functions and delivering results. He is known for insight and leadership in strategy, marketing, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A).

Shri Chiranjib Patra

Vice Chairman

Shri Chiranjib Patra is a Mining Engineer from IIEST Shibpur. He has experience of 34 years in the coal mining industry including experience as Mine Planning & Design Consultant. His experience includes, working in underground coal mine, preparation & appraisal of Coal & Metal mining projects and R&D projects for subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL), IISCO-SAIL, MOIL India Limited, etc., preparation of policy documents for CIL viz. model bid documents for development and extraction of coal from mines on risk-gain, hiring, turnkey & mine-developer-cum-operator (MDO) basis, support to Ministry of Coal (MoC) for allocation of coal blocks, vetting of Mining Plans & technical matters, working as a consultant to ECL, BCCL and SECL for undertaking CBM projects, implementation of pilot scale R&D project on underground Coal Gasification in Eastern Coalfields Limited. He is presently holding the position of ED (Corporate Affairs & Business Development) at CIL as part of the Business Development Division of CIL. In in present profile, he is undertaking diversification initiatives in Coal-to-Chemical Projects, Acquisition of Critical Mineral Assets, Thermal Power Projects and Renewable Projects. In addition to HURL, he is serving as a part-time Director on the Board of Talcher Fertilizers Limited.

Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty

Managing Director

Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), is a visionary leader in India’s fertiliser and agri-input sector, with over 36 years of transformational leadership across some of the country’s most strategic public sector undertakings. His journey—from the classrooms of Berhampur University, where he completed his management studies, to the helm of one of India’s most ambitious fertiliser ventures—is a story of relentless commitment, reformative thinking, and nation-first leadership. Dr. Mohanty further sharpened his strategic outlook through executive education at IIM Lucknow and the Advanced Management Programme at IIM Kolkata, equipping him with the foresight and clarity to lead with impact and purpose. He began his distinguished career in 1989 with Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF), where he quickly rose to prominence. His deep understanding of marketing dynamics and hands-on leadership approach earned him the prestigious “Marketing Man of the Year” award in 1995 and the “Best Employee” recognition in 2012. Dr. Mohanty’s career has been defined by his ability to turn around institutions and reshape their growth trajectories. At HIL (India) Ltd., during his tenure as Director (Marketing) and later as CMD, the organisation achieved a record 50% increase in turnover, along with significant advances in product diversification and operational efficiency. As Chairman and Managing Director of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL), he led the remarkable revival of the organisation after more than a decade of operational and financial stagnation. In his current role as Managing Director of HURL, Dr. Mohanty leads one of the largest fertiliser revival missions in post-liberalised India. Under his dynamic leadership, HURL’s three state-of-the-art urea plants at Gorakhpur, Sindri, and Barauni have emerged as benchmarks of operational excellence and national self-reliance. Adding to his illustrious journey, Dr. Mohanty is also appointed as the first Managing Director of Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) — a joint venture of the Government of Assam, OIL, NFL, HURL, and BVFCL on 5th August 2025 to set up a state-of-the-art 12.7 LMT fertilizer plant at Namrup, marking yet another milestone in his distinguished career. Beyond plant operations, he has steered HURL's strategic expansion into next-generation agri-solutions, including Green Hydrogen and clean energy-based initiatives, charting a bold new direction for sustainable agriculture and technological innovation in the sector. Dr. Mohanty’s exemplary contributions have earned widespread recognition. He is the recipient of several national honours, including the State Business Leadership Award (2022), the Bharat Jyoti Award, and the Chanakya Award (2022) from the Public Relations Council of India. He was also named among India’s 50 Most Influential Rural Marketing Professionals for his transformative impact on agricultural outreach. In January 2025, he was honoured as one of the ELITE 100 Change Makers, recognising his visionary leadership and contribution to India's growth story. A Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FIoD), Dr. Mohanty exemplifies the principles of balanced and visionary leadership. His distinguished roles include serving as an Ex-Member of SCOPE and Ex-Co-Chairman of the Chemical & Petrochemical Division of FICCI. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Eastern Region of the Fertilizer Association of India (FAI) and was elected as Co-Chairman of FAI on 19th June 2025, further affirming his standing as a respected thought leader in the fertiliser and public enterprise sectors.

Ms. Ritu Arora

Ms. Ritu Arora is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, holding a Bachelor degree of Commerce, a Bachelor degree of Laws and MBA (E) in Finance. She has over 25 years of experience including 23 years as Company Secretary in public sector and private sector companies of diversified fields such as Power, Railways & Road Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Trading, Telecommunication and Logistics. Her gamut of experience includes Company Secretarial Operations with Corporate Governance, Legal Affairs, Human Resource, Finance & Audit. She has handled various corporate actions / functions viz. IPO, bonus & preferential issues, mergers, acquisitions & restructuring, internal audit, risk management etc. Presently, Ms. Ritu Arora is holding post of Company Secretary in NTPC Limited and has been appointed as Director on the Board of HURL w.e.f. 02.02.2026.

Shri Sanjay Shrivastava

Director

Shri Sanjay Shrivastava is holding the position of Executive Director (Finance), Coal India Limited (CIL), which is a Maharatna enterprise under the Ministry of Coal. He has an illustrious career spanning over three decades in corporate finance, strategic planning, and financial governance. He is a seasoned finance professional and member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He also holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from Nagpur University. His academic and professional credentials have empowered him to lead and transform financial operations across diverse sectors including infrastructure, mining, and power generation. He has played a pivotal role in strengthening the financial architecture of CIL. His leadership has been instrumental in driving financial consolidation, digital transformation, and policy optimization. Prior to his tenure at CIL, Shri Sanjay Shrivastava held key positions at South Eastern Coalfields Ltd., subsidiary of CIL, where he contributed significantly across various financial functions. His core competencies span a wide array of domains such as corporate accounting, cost control, treasury and fund management, taxation, budgeting and forecasting, statutory compliance, digitization of financial operations, and enterprise risk management. He has successfully led enterprise-wide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations and championed initiatives that enhanced financial transparency and enabled real-time reporting. Recognized as a thought leader in public sector finance, he is known for his ability to integrate operational precision with strategic policy insight. Beyond project management and financing, he has played a crucial role in shaping pricing strategies, regulatory frameworks and resource optimization aligned with national energy and infrastructure objectives. With a rare blend of tactical acumen and strategic foresight, Shri Sanjay Shrivastava continues to contribute meaningfully to CIL’s financial strength and its global stature as the world’s largest coal-producing company.

Shri Naresh Arya

Director

Shri Naresh Arya, Director (Finance), Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL) and Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited (HFCL) serves in the capacity of Non-Executive Director on the Board of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited w.e.f. 14.05.2024. He is an Indian Cost Accounts Service Officer. He is a Chartered Accountant and M.A. in Economics. He is presently working as Director in Fertilizer Industry Coordination Committee (FICC) in the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India. He has also worked in the commercial wing of Comptroller & Auditor General of India (C&AG), Department of Expenditure, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, Department of Personnel and Training and Department of Commerce. He possesses wide experience in Government accounts and finance, costing, trade remedy laws, audit, establishment etc.

Shri Nitin Kumar

Director

Shri Nitin Kumar has joined the Board of HURL w.e.f.22nd August 2025. He is a Chartered Accountant and also holds Executive Masters from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). He had joined Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in 1996 and has rich experience of finance, corporate planning, corporate treasury and corporate strategy. He had also carried out IOC’s maiden USD bond issuance in 2010 and India’s first 10-year Singapore Dollar bond in 2012 (the issuance was adjudged “the Indian Capital Market Deal of the Year 2012” by International Financing Review Asia). He has extensive experience of fund raising from national and international markets in terms of bonds, syndicated loans, bilateral revolving lines, export credit agency loans, buyer’s credit, packing credit in foreign currency, collateralised borrowing, working capital loan, commercial paper, inter corporate deposits, cash credit etc. He has developed corporate policy for exchange and interest rate risk management, financing of group entities, strategy of asset monetisation and has been part of various due diligence processes for M&A transactions. Shri Nitin Kumar played a key role in establishing “SPRINT” – a transformational project in 2025 in IOCL. Currently, he is holding the post of Executive Director (Corporate Finance & Treasury) in IOCL. He is also holding the position of Nominee Director in Terra Clean Limited and IOC Global Capital Management IFSC Limited.
