The Gorakhpur Fertilizer unit is located about 12 km north from Gorakhpur town in eastern Uttar Pradesh on NH-28. It has excellent connectivity both by road and rail.
The Gorakhpur Airport which is 21 km from the fertilizer unit has direct flights to major cities.
Following the formation of HURL in June 2016, the foundation stone of the Gorakhpur project was laid on 22 July 2016.
With the support of all its stakeholders, including the Central Government, State Government, Local bodies, the Gorakhpur Unit was commissioned and dedicated to the Nation by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 7th December, 2021.
The Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the Gorakhpur Unit was declared on 3rd May, 2022.
Presently, the Gorakhpur Unit is operating at full capacity, ensuring the timely availability of fertilizers to farmers.

The Sindri Fertilizer unit is located in the district of Dhanbad in the state of Jharkhand. Sindri is well connected with major cities by rail/road. Dhanbad district head quarter is about 26 KM from Sindri and in an important division head quarter of East Central Railway.
The historical Grand Trunk Road and National Highway NH-02 connecting Kolkata and Delhi passes only about 25KM from Sindri Factory area. The Sindri unit is also connected to Durgapur & Ranchi airports, which are 100 km and 175 km away, respectively.
Following the formation of HURL in June, 2016, the foundation stone of the Sindri Fertilizer Project was laid by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on 25th May, 2018.
With the support of all its stakeholders including the Central Government, State Government, Local bodies, the Sindri Unit has been commissioned on 5th Nov,2022 and the commercial operation date (COD) was declared on 15th April 2023 .
HURL Sindri Unit was dedicated to Nation by Hon'ble Prime Minister on 1st March, 2024.
Presently, the Sindri Unit is operating at full capacity, ensuring the timely availability of fertlizers to farmers.

The Barauni Fertilizer unit is located in the Begusarai district of Bihar. Railway Station (Barauni) is at a distance of 0.8 km from the plant site.
The Barauni Refinery of IOCL lies adjacent to the fertilizer plant. The plant is well connected by rail and road. National Highways No. 31 passes nearby. The nearest airport is at Patna about 100 km from Barauni.
Following the formation of HURL in June, 2016, the foundation stone of the Barauni Fertilizer Project was laid by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on 17th February, 2019.
With the support of all its stakeholders including the Central Government, State Government, Local bodies etc. Barauni Unit has been commissioned on 18th Oct,2022 and the commercial operation date (COD) was declared on 30th April 2023.
HURL Barauni Unit was dedicated to Nation by Hon'ble Prime Minister on 2nd March, 2024.
Presently, the Barauni Unit is operating at full capacity, ensuring the timely availability of fertilizers to farmers

Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) has been incorporated as a Public Limited Company on 25th July 2025 and is having its registered office at Assam. AVFCCL is Joint Venture Company of Government of Assam, Oil India Limited, National Fertilizer Limited, Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited and Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited, with equity participation in the ratio of 40:18:18:13:11.
AVFCCL was incorporated with the objective to establish and operate new Fertilizer plant (Ammonia-Urea and associated chemicals) at existing premises of BVFCL at Namrup, Assam and to market its products, taking into consideration the assets of BVFCL at Namrup, Assam.
